Track your Zepbound injections in Peptimes
Zepbound is a tirzepatide injection from Eli Lilly and Company, in pens or in vials. Peptimes is a private tracker where you record each Zepbound injection, keep a history of your injection sites, and get reminders on the days you already follow.
Peptimes never suggests an amount: you type in what you took. It's a tracking app, and it doesn't sell anything.
What Zepbound is
Zepbound is made by Eli Lilly and Company and marketed in the US by Lilly USA, LLC. Its active ingredient is tirzepatide, and FDA first approved it on November 8, 2023, under NDA 217806. Every presentation is injected under the skin, and the label lists more of them than people often expect:
- single-dose prefilled pens, in cartons of four
- single-dose vials, in cartons of one or four
- a multi-dose vial
- Zepbound KwikPen, a multi-dose pen for one person
The label was revised most recently in August 2026. We checked it on DailyMed, and the application on Drugs@FDA, on October 25, 2026.
Zepbound's status in the US
FDA Approved, for the uses in its label, which you'll find in the Zepbound label on DailyMed.
Prescription only. Drugs@FDA lists every Zepbound pen and vial as a prescription product.
If a product is compounded tirzepatide, it isn't Zepbound. FDA's own wording is "Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved." Zepbound's approval belongs to Lilly's specific product, route and uses, and a compounded product doesn't inherit it. What "compounded" means has the detail.
Mounjaro, the other tirzepatide brand
Eli Lilly and Company also makes Mounjaro, which contains tirzepatide too. It's a separate product, on its own application and with its own label. The brands and ingredients guide sets the two side by side.
A change from one brand to the other is for your prescriber to make. To keep your records tidy through one, see records when you switch medicines.
Recording Zepbound in Peptimes
Zepbound lives under tirzepatide in the Library. Search by a brand name such as Zepbound, and you'll find the entry for its active ingredient. For reminders, add tirzepatide as a protocol: tap +, then Add a Protocol, search Zepbound or tirzepatide, and set the days and times you already follow.
A vial dose and a pen dose are logged the same way, as tirzepatide given subcutaneously, and nothing in the app tells them apart. Each entry has the amount you type, the site you used, and how you feel. To remember which presentation you used, add it in the dose's Notes.
Discreet reminders on Zepbound days
Your reminder arrives at the dose time or a set number of minutes before, with a "Not logged" follow-up if the dose isn't recorded yet. With Discreet on, neither one names Zepbound or an amount; they say only "You have a reminder" and "Open the app to see it." Like any iPhone notification, they still show Peptimes' name and icon; set Show Previews to When Unlocked to hide the text on the lock screen too.

Where you've injected Zepbound
Insights turns the sites you log into a body map of where you've injected and how recently. It shows your history only, never where to inject next. See injection site history for how it works.

Calendar, Dose History and export
The Calendar lays out your Zepbound doses by month, week or day, and Dose History lists them newest first. Optional weight and body measurement logs sit beside them.
Export as CSV or JSON whenever you want a copy for an appointment. Your health records are stored on your iPhone; your records may not come across to a new iPhone, so export a copy first.

FAQ
Does Peptimes tell me my Zepbound dose?
No. You enter the amount you were prescribed, and Peptimes never suggests one.
Is compounded tirzepatide the same as Zepbound?
No. Zepbound is a specific Eli Lilly and Company product with its own FDA approval, and FDA states that "Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved."
Can I track Zepbound vials, not just pens?
Yes. A vial dose logs exactly like a pen dose: tirzepatide, subcutaneous, your amount and your site. Use Notes if you want to record which one it was.
Does Peptimes tell me where to inject Zepbound next?
No. The body map in Insights shows only where you've injected and how recently, from your own entries.
